This painting began as an abstract work I thought was finished. One morning, I discovered that my three-year-old daughter had quietly added her own marks while I wasn't there. Rather than feeling upset, I found myself smiling at her instinctive desire to create, just like her mother. From that moment, the painting began to evolve into something entirely different.
THE SWAN BECAME A SYMBOL OF SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL WE ONCE HELD CLOSE — A PERSON, A PLACE, A FEELING, OR A MOMENT THAT STAYS WITH US LONG AFTER IT HAS PASSED. FOR ME, THIS WORK IS A REFLECTION ON MEMORY, TENDERNESS, AND THE QUIET BEAUTY OF WHAT REMAINS WITH US.
