THE
FAMILY
I have been creating for as long as I can remember. Growing up in a family of artists and makers, creativity has always been a natural part of who I am. My father has a remarkable ability to transform clay into beautiful works of art, while my mother can turn the simplest fabric into something extraordinary. My great-grandfather, Per Ivan Humbla, was a Swedish painter and printmaker, and art has been woven into my family’s story for generations.

THE
EDUCATION
I studied Visual Arts education at Stockholm University, exploring painting, drawing, sculpture, and different materials and techniques. I also studied Pattern Design, which continues to influence how I see texture, rhythm, and composition.

THE
INSPIRATION
I began painting and selling my work in my early twenties, and although painting has taken different places in my life, it has always found its way back. Becoming a mother changed my artistic perspective. Today, my daughters are among my greatest sources of inspiration. My paintings often begin with everyday moments - the movement of a dress, light falling across a face or the stillness of the ocean on a quiet morning.

THE
FEELING
I am less interested in capturing how something looks than in expressing how it feels. Through children, women, animals and nature. I explore themes of belonging, dreams and memory. I often leave parts of my paintings undefined, allowing space for the viewer’s own stories and interpretations.

THE
PAINTINGS
I am drawn to muted earth tones, layered textures, and a sense of timelessness. My process is intuitive and ever-changing. Sometimes a painting transforms completely along the way, shaped by unexpected moments and the life unfolding around it. Ultimately, I want my paintings to leave something unspoken, a feeling, a memory or a question that invites the viewer to pause and wonder.
